Our Process

  • 01 — Discovery

    We start by understanding your vision, space, and goals. Clear communication upfront ensures the project is aligned from day one.

  • 02 — Site Analysis

    We evaluate the property conditions including layout, grading, drainage, and access. This allows us to plan correctly and avoid issues later in the build.

  • SLO Outdoor is led by Shaun McNeer and Jurgen de Jager, builders with over 20 years of combined experience in San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas.

    Their background in ground-up construction shaped a detail-driven, systems-focused approach that carries into every project today. From excavation and foundation to final finishes, they understand how every piece comes together — and how to do it right.

    Over the years, they’ve built strong relationships with the city and local trades, allowing projects to move efficiently through planning, permitting, and construction.

    Today, the focus is on high-end outdoor living. By keeping the company intentionally small and hands-on, Shaun and Jurgen stay directly involved in every project — ensuring quality, accountability, and on-time delivery.
